As World War II approaches, an English aristocrat (Kidman) inherits an enormous ranch in Northern Australia. When cattle barons plot to take the precious land from her, she is forced to join a rugged cattle driver (Jackman) and flee with her herd across the treacherous, inhospitable terrain.
