Keira Knightly stars as the glamorous and defiant French writer Colette in this new biopic from Wash Westmoreland. When Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette is courted by successful Parisian writer Willy (Dominic West) she is catapulted into marriage, trading her rural childhood home for bohemian Paris. As her desire to write becomes apparent, her husband convinces her to write novels to be published under his name.

As the Claudine novels spark a cultural sensation, the couple are drawn into the literary spotlight, and Colette’s encounters with radical figures encourage her to defy Willy and take ownership of her work – whatever the cost.
