Tokyo parents Osamu and Nobuyo, struggling to make ends meet, are no strangers to unconventional means of survival. Leading their children on regular shoplifting sprees, the pair rely on selling stolen goods when work is sparse.

But when they make the decision to train a young and vulnerable girl to join their gang, the family’s bonds are put under strain.
