The first film from Back to the Future director Robert Zemeckis, this look at the Beatlemania phenomenon follows their fans for the real story. It’s 1964 and The Beatles are about to take centre stage on their iconic Ed Sullivan Show appearance. A group of young girls hatch a plan: bust into The Beatles hotel via a limousine, gain tickets to the show and then secure their undying love. Simple? This madcap trip through New York has plenty of joyfully silly moments that come when you’re young and in love (with a pop star).

If you want to understand how The Beatles changed the world and created youth culture as we know it, Zemeckis’ film (executive produced by Steven Spielberg) is a warm, slapstick look into the mania the Scousers inflicted from Maine to Manhattan.
