Hollywood’s master of the macabre Tim Burton (Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd) gets his juice back in revisiting the realm of the undead. The Deetz Family, returning to their old haunt in Connecticut, open a portal to the afterlife and unleash a coterie of ghouls including the titular ‘bio-exorcist’ (Michael Keaton) with whom Burton launched his career in horror-comedy thirty-six years ago.

Loaded with ‘80s nostalgia and featuring an all-star cast of icons old and new (Catherine O’Hara, Willem Defoe, Jenna Ortega), Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a perfect finale to this summer’s cluster of top-quality sequels and with the hotly-anticipated West End debut of Beetlejuice: The Musical rumoured to be the hot ticket of the 2024–5 season, this revamp will surely be one of the biggest films of the year.
