The Bikeriders

Director Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter, Loving) has revved up his engine for this ‘60s set, grease-stained, slicked-back tale of bikers, with a stellar cast featuring Jodie Comer (Prima Facie), Austin Butler (Elvis), Tom Hardy and Mike Faist (Challengers). Biker gang The Vandals is led by Benny (Butler), whose twin loves are crime and Kathy (Comer). Is it one brush with the law too many for the gang or can they raise the rebel flag forevermore? 

As the bad boys tears a path across Chicago, Nichols give us a charming tribute to the counterculture. Based on photojournalist Danny Lyons images of the actual gang, this is a brilliant hang out film in the mould of Richard Linklater (Dazed & Confused), with a fundamental sense of place and atmosphere, electrified by some of the best actors in the game.
