The Little Mermaid

Take another trip under the sea in Disney’s live action remake of the beloved animated classic.

Ariel (Halle Bailey) dreams of more than her life under the sea. Life isn’t easy as a mermaid princess, with her father King Triton (Javier Bardem) keen for her to keep her horizons subaquatic. Entranced by sailor prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King), she trades her voice with sea hag Ursula (Melissa McCarthy) for the chance to walk on two feet. Can she win her prince’s heart on dry land?

Ably directed by Rob Marshall – who has previous expertise in the realm of musicals and tales of life on the briny having delivered Chicago, Pirates of the Caribbean and Mary Poppins Returns to the big screen – this remake has all the charm of the original, adding Halle Bailey’s excellent pipes to the original songs, as well as new additions from Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda.
