Kiln Theatre presents
MINDING THE GAP SCHOOLS’ PERFORMANCE
You are invited to join us for Kiln Theatre Creative Engagement’s Minding the Gap School performances. Over 50 young people will come together to share and perform the devised work they have created over the last six months with creative practitioners on the Kiln Theatre stage.
Their pieces explore a broken time machine that results in a magical journey through different locations and period in history, Two gangs fighting for social justice resulting in an epic dance battle and a journey through London.
Kiln’s flagship programme, Minding the Gap, which has been running for over 10 years, is a theatre project for young people aged 14-19 who are newly arrived in the UK, with lived experience of migration and/or who identify as refugees and asylum seekers from Kiln’s partner schools and colleges in Brent. We work with six local schools and colleges EAL/ ESOL departments to provide creative drama-based sessions, which aim to develop students’ creativity, confidence in spoken English, self-pride and engagement in arts and culture.
