Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere

Bruce Springsteen has redefined rock and roll several times in his storied career. This biopic from Crazy Heart director Scott Cooper hones in on a phoenix-like moment in The Boss’s life, as played by The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White. Holing himself up, he solo recorded one of his bleakest records, an acoustic plunge into the black-hearted soul of America, one that teed him up for Born in the USA‘s majesty. 

The story of the making of Nebraska is far from the average biopic rise to stardom. Instead, it’s a compelling tale of artistic reinvention and reckoning with the value of fame once it’s been attained. With a terrific supporting cast of Jeremy Strong, Mark Maron and Stephen Graham, this is poignant stuff whether you’re a devotee of Springsteen or not.
