Bill Nighy and Imelda Staunton stars in this family drama with a twist. Andrew (Nighy) is a reclusive author and pater familias, marginalised and dissolute after a decades-old affair split apart his family and marriage to his ex-wife (Imelda Staunton). He gathers his family – including his artist sons Johnny Flynn and George MacKay – to reveal the surprising truth about their half brother, the love child from the affair.

The English language debut of Argentinian director Pablo Trapero, & Sons was co-written with Oscar winner Sarah Polley (Women Talking). There’s more than a hint of sci-fi beneath the surface of this tale of inheritance, family grievance and reconnection. A superb cast is admirably led by Nighy, in a role that fits him like a glove.
