Artist Opportunity

Kiln theatre are looking for a Brent or Camden based illustrator to design an image that represents and celebrates the communities in Kilburn.

This month we begin our three-year long heritage project ‘Celebrating Our Stories: The Kilburn High Road Project’, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The project will celebrate the tangible and intangible heritage of Kilburn and the communities which call Kilburn home. Various projects will take place from Jan 24 – Dec 26 , through which we’ll be collaborating with residents, community groups, organisations,  artists and schools to platform stories of heritage from Kilburn’s communities. The project will culminate in a two week festival of events and performances along Kilburn High Road and an exhibition at Brent Museum and Archives through which we will record and celebrate the heritages discovered.

We want to work with a locally based illustrator to create an original image for the marketing of the project. It should be a design that encapsulates and celebrates the diverse cultures, talent  and dynamism of Kilburn.  If you’re interested in creating this please send us between 1 – 5 examples of your work that demonstrate your style and/ or something similar you have done and a short paragraph on what you would deliver for this image.

The fee will be £750

Please submit your application by 10am on Monday 15 April 2024.

To apply, email getinvolved@kilntheatre.com.
