Kilburn High Road Project

Move at the Movies

August 2024 - March 2025

Move at the Movies is designed to support Brent residents aged 50+ who are living with a health diagnosis to connect with one another and remain active by sharing a range of varied cinema experiences including learning the dance routines that they see on screen. Participants will engage with and enjoy films that represent the heritage of local communities, and take part in activities to encourage movement and social interaction.

Participants will watch films at Kiln Cinema and take part in 3-hour fortnightly sessions that combine movement, thematic creative activities, and discussion over a shared meal. The project will culminate in a sharing event where participants perform rehearsed routines and present other creative responses to the films explored.

This project has been made possible with the National Lottery Heritage Fund with thanks to National Lottery players.

The Kilburn High Road Project is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Jules and Cheryl Burns, City Bridge Foundation, Marie-Louise von Motesiczky Charitable Trust, Pears Foundation, The Vandervell Foundation.
