A Want in Her + Q&A

We are delighted to be joined by filmmaker Myrid Carten for a Q&A event on 4th October. 

Myrid Carten’s documentary captures the strained yet unbreakable bond between the filmmaker and her mother, a lifelong alcoholic and sufferer of extreme mental health struggles. Incorporating footage from many years in Belfast, it lays bare this life, as well as its impact on those around her.

While challenging viewing at times, A Want In Her is studded by moments of beauty, grace and even humour. A testament to the power of the bond between child and parent, and also a remarkable debut from artist filmmaker Myrid Carten.
