After Love

The debut feature from Aleem Khan stars Joanna Scanlan (The Thick Of It, Getting On) as Mary Hussain, a white British convert to Islam, left to discover her husband’s secret family overseas following his sudden death. Led by a BAFTA-winning lead performance from Scanlan and sweeping the 2021 British Independent Film Awards, After Love gives care and attention to its characters, imbuing them with all the specificity that transcends stereotypes. Released in 2020, this would be many people’s first opportunity to see this breathtaking, visually stunning film on the big screen.
