We are delighted to be joined by directors Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor for the screening of the film on Friday April 5th.

Rose Dugdale was a fascinating figure within the Irish struggle for freedom. An English aristocrat, she cast off debutante status to fight for the IRA, ultimately leading one of the world’s largest art heists on English gentry in County Cork. Played by Imogen Poots (The Father) she is a woman lit from within by revolutionary fire. But what price is paid for rejecting the life of luxury handed to you?

Alternating between the tense heist and Dugdale’s radicalisation, this is gripping territory for a biopic, told with rare insight into the inner life of its lead and her lover Eddie (Jack Meade). Directors Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor – otherwise known as Desperate Optimists and the acclaimed directors of Rose Plays Julie and Helen – have added a new, compelling chapter in their explorations of Ireland’s history, present and future.
