We are delighted to be joined by Bring Them Down director Christopher Andrews for a post-screening Q&A following our screening on Thursday 6th February.
Two families have shepherded on the rural West Ireland hillsides for generations, but as their livelihood faces decline, a bitter row erupts as Michael (Christopher Abbott) accuses Gary (Paul Ready) and Jack (Barry Keoghan) of stealing their sheep. Michael’s father (Colm Meaney) is blinded by the past, and cannot be told when an even bloodier scheme is hatched, one that will have tragic consequences for everyone who makes their living on the bleak mountains.
A directorial debut of real assurance that makes fantastic use of the Irish landscape, Bring Them Down is a gripping revenge thriller. While the Irish cast of Colm Meany and Barry Keoghan are as assured as ever, it is US indie darling Christopher Abbott (Girls, Poor Things) who is a real revelation, not only delivering on the Irish accent, but also speaking Irish.
