Christy

Christy (Danny Power) is on the cusp of adulthood when he is thrown out of his foster home into his half-brother Shane’s (Diarmuid Noyes) home. They are both struggling to find a foothold in a world with little stability. As Shane balances the life of his young family and his loose cannon brother, Christy is caught between old habits and new chances, in a community with incredible kindness and savage hate side-by-side.

Christy is a superb debut and a real crowd pleaser. Its location shooting uncovers corners of suburban Cork rarely seen on screen that are elevated with a rare cinematic eye. Christy’s journey avoids cliché and the supporting cast of young locals are unaffected but full of authentic and charming star power.
