Dune: Part Two

The first part of Denis Villeneuve’s space epic left us as Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) was on the verge of taking up the mantle as leader of the Fremen, the indigenous people of desert planet Arrakis. The soul source of the spice melange, essential for space travel, it is contested both by the space emperor Shaddam IV (Christopher Walken) and the new inheritors of the dread House of Harkkonen (Austin Butler). Can Paul lead the Fremen and their collosal space worms to victory and claim the planet as their own?

As a director Villeneuve has a true command over galaxy-spanning material, delivering set pieces with real impact as well as characters that sing even against the space operatics. With Austin Butler, Florence Pugh and Christopher Walken joining the already stacked cast, expect superb action from this conclusion to Frank Herbert’s sci-fi classic.
