“A visceral British debut that heralds the arrival of a brilliantly strange new visionary.” ★★★★ Time Out

A great British debut about love and hoarding, director Luna Carmoon finds trash in other people’s treasure, weaving together two timelines of lost souls who pick the diamonds from the rough. Hayley Squires (I, Daniel Blake) plays Cynthia, a firecracker who spends her free time jumping into wheelie bins with her daughter. Their home is a glittering treasure trove of detritus. When neat freak foster child Maria (Saura Lightfoot Leon) pairs up with former foster kid Michael (Stranger Things’ Joseph Quinn) – himself a hoarder-in-the-making – it puts the two pairs on a collision course.

Unconventional intimacies and strange meetings ensue. A selection of the Venice Film Festival, this is an exciting debut that delivers some supremely textured characterisation and a uniquely British sense of the strangeness of life, comparable to the work of Peter Strickland (The Duke of Burgundy) and Sean Baker (The Florida Project).
