I Play Rocky

From the Oscar-winning director of Green Book, comes the underdog behind the making of one of cinema’s iconic underdog stories. Sylvester Stallone (played by Anthony Ippolito, an uncanny fit for the Italian Stallion) is struggling to land parts as Thug #2 when inspiration strikes him watching a prize fight on TV. Now he has to just convince the entire film industry that his script should not only get made, but this unknown actor is the guy to play the lead.

Before Rocky was a franchise phenomenon, Sylvester Stallone crafted a gently moving story of a lunk who finally does right. Revealing not only how turned his life around, but also how inspiration was drawn from his own life, this is a heartwarming, often hilarious true story. With supporting roles from Stephan James (as Carl Weathers), AnnaSophia Robb (as Stallone’s first wife Sasha) and Matt Dillon (as Stallone’s father), this is biopic gold that’ll be a major part of awards season.
