If I Had Legs I'd Kick You

Rose Byrne (Bridesmaids) finds a role to match her talents, earning her a BAFTA and Oscar nomination in the process. She is Linda, a therapist who is solo parenting her disabled daughter in absence of her ship captain husband (Christian Slater). When her roof collapses, she is pushed to her limit, and her daily therapist session are not helping.

What could have been a realist study in a downward spiral is brought to the screen with a deadpan surrealism, with some inspired choices that mark it out beyond its powerhouse central performance. Unconventional casting (Conan O’Brien! A$AP Rocky!) that nonetheless hits the mark mix with feral yet hilarious comedy, ensuring this study of a woman reaching the end of her rope is essential viewing.
