A frothy delight for anyone who loves Jane Austen and Richard Curtis, this French romcom follows Agathe (Camille Rutherford), who is long-term single and working in Paris’s uber-romantic Shakespeare & Co bookshop. When her friend Felix (Pablo Pauly) enters her writing sample into a competition, she finds herself deep in Austen country and straight into the affections of Austen’s great-great-great-grandnephew Oliver (Charlie Anson).

There’s plenty of cynical French bite to go with the romance, but this is a heartfelt and very funny culture clash comedy with the true spirit of Bath’s most famous daughter.
