Just An Illusion

Just an Illusion is a warm-spirited French family drama that has a beautiful spirit of tolerance, and some well-earned laughs. It’s 1985 and teenager Vincent (Simon Boublil) is starting to see the adult world. His father (Louis Garrel, Little Women), the family breadwinner has been hiding he is unemployed, while his mother’s (Camille Cottin, Call My Agent!) dreams of a way out from drudgery by becoming a computer whizz. His older brother is content to mock him for his infatuation with his teen crush.

Directed by French hit making duo Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano – whose The Intouchables was a global smash – Just an Illusion makes much of the period detail (including a cracking soundtrack). Take a trip back to the age where the personal computer revolutionised the world!
