In a climate obsessed with first loves, My Sailor, My Love depicts how last loves can be just as significant. Director Klaus Härö that tells the story of a former sea captain, Howard (James Cosmo) who comes into a romance with Annie (Brid Brennan), a housekeeper hired by his daughter Grace (Catherine Walker) who wants to provide care for her father without imposing on his independence.

A commentary on the nature of age and family, through Grace we are invited to explore the pressure faced by adult children to take care of their ageing parents, while the main plot works to affirm that love knows little limits, with old age not one of them.

A brilliant highlight to an illustrious career, James Cosmo is fully in his element in a role that allows him to showcase his incredible talent. Beautiful Irish landscapes and scenery reflect the heartwarming experience of seeing this film.
