Given access to the personal archives of US writer and journalist Hunter S.
Thompson, this documentary explores the man and his impact on literary and
political society.
This fascinating documentary is followed by a Q&A with Ralph Steadman, the
artist who famously illustrated much of Thompson’s work and has published a
memoir recounting his time with Thompson, The Joke’s Over: Gonzo, Hunter S.
Thompson and Me. Steadman was there at the birth of gonzo journalism in
1970, and was there when Thompson’s ashes were blasted out of a cannon in
2005. This Q&A will provide a unique insight into the controversial
writer’s life through one of the people that knew him best.
