SWEDEN: Simple Simon (UK Premiere)

(I rymden finns inga känslor)

2010/Sweden/ 90 mins/ Dir. Andreas Öhman
Cast: Bill Skarsgård, Martin Wallström, Cecilia Forss, Sofie Hamilton

A major box office hit in Sweden, this debut feature by 25 year old director Andreas Öhman is a colorful arthouse comedy.

Simon, 18, has Aspergers syndrome. He likes space, science and circles but can’t understand feelings. Simon’s life is turned upside-down when his brother Sam is dumped by his girlfriend. In order to make sense of the world, Simon needs structure. He needs things to follow a certain pattern – with the same schedule, the same meals, the same clothes – week in week out.

Sam is the one who’s always taken care of Simon. Wanting things to get back to normal, Simon gives himself one mission – to find Sam a new girlfriend. Unfortunately Simon knows nothing about love and doesn’t understand emotions – but he has a scientifically foolproof plan.
