A team of over one hundred artists turned each frame of the film into an animated oil painting, following a year in the life of Jagna (Kamila Urzedowska) as she grapples with village politics and the threat of Russian invasion. Directors DK and Hugh Welchman have pulled off another remarkable feat of cinematic invention, which has been one of the most successful films in Polish history.
