January 2024: medical volunteers and professionals in the Gaza Strip receive an emergency call from six-year-old Hind Rajab who is trapped under a car on fire. Their desperate mission to get an ambulance to the child has devastating consequences. Using real audio recordings from Hind, and constructing a drama seen from the emergency services side, this is a deeply gripping, humanitarian thriller.
Following her Oscar-nominated documentary Four Daughters, Kaouther Ben Hania shows equal sensitivity in this blend of documentary and fiction. Undeniably heartbreaking, her film is also an important testament to the times we are living through, where innocents are caught in the crossfire of conflict.
