In partnership with community screening group Filmscope CIC, we present a special screening of Bruce Lee’s The Way of the Dragon for D/deaf and hard of hearing audiences and anyone who loves Kung Fu/action cinema. We’ll screen Bruce Lee’s classic along with a talk on Bruce Lee’s career and influence with Life of Action Vol I & II author and action cinema expert Mike Fury.
Tang Lung (Bruce Lee) is sent from the countryside of Hong Kong to Rome in order to help a family friend whose restaurant is being threatened by local thugs. Infusing comedy and full of dazzling action set pieces, this is one of Bruce Lee’s most personal and ambitious projects, and the last film he saw released before his tragic early death (his next film would sadly be his last, the international hit, Enter the Dragon, which was released posthumously). This is superb action cinema now beautifully restored to its high-kicking glory.
Please note, both the screening and post-show Q&A will be D/deaf friendly, and the film will have closed captions.
