A Filter and Lyric Hammersmith Co-Production
Filter return to the Tricycle following their universally-acclaimed production of TWELFTH NIGHT!
‘Outrageously ambitious and gobsmackingly well-orchestrated drama… a triumph of both style and substance.’
‘The show with the flow. Filter subtly blend storytelling and stagecraft… uses hi-tech staging to tell a very human pair of stories that intertwine the personal and the political.
‘Spellbinding theatre from the experimental group Filter. The use of layers, both physical and thematic, is both playful and disturbing’
‘Work that dazzles the eye, enchants the ear, and stimulates both the mind and heart.’
In Canada two half brothers clash over the legacy of their dead father. Meanwhile in Germany a young female special advisor tries to push through a deal at a political summit, and in Mexico a young Englishman prepares to dive the deepest freshwater cave in the world.
With the strange beauty of a dream, Water inter-cuts between powerful individual stories, exploring man’s desire to push himself to the limit in an increasingly unstable world.
Filter is renowned for its distinctive theatrical style that exposes the workings of a production – video is mixed onstage and sound is produced live by a musician and the performers to create a unique, ‘live chemistry’ experience for audiences.
