“A timely political parable with a stellar ensemble cast.” The New York Times

After it is revealed that the men of their community have been secretly drugging and raping the women at night, eight women from an isolated Mennonite colony are conflicted between their faith and their reality when they learn of the ongoing violations against them.

A dark, emotional, and impassioned drama, Women Talking fits aptly within the post #MeToo era of bringing light to sexual violence against women. The story is a reimagining of real-life events that occurred at the Manitoba Colony in Bolivia between 2005 and 2009 and questions to what extent morality and faith are inclusive of one another.

Sarah Polley (Away From Her) directs this timely piece with a star studded cast that includes Oscar-nominated Rooney Mara (The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) as Ona, the fierce protagonist who alongside Salome (Claire Foy, The Crown) and Mariche (Jessie Buckley, The Lost Daughter) steer the crew of violated women to their ultimatum: do nothing, stay and fight, or leave.
