“A bosom-heaving, gasp-inducing thrill ride” ★★★★★ The Telegraph
Already the most discussed film of 2026, director Emerald Fennell follows her run of buzzy, visceral films with the follow up to Saltburn. Cathy (Margot Robbie) is childhood companion to foundling Heathcliff (initially Adolescence’s Owen Cooper; latterly Frankenstein’s Jacob Elordi). As they grow, primal passions stir, but can Heathcliff’s flinty love stand against Cathy’s eye being drawn by moneyed Edgar Linton (Shazad Latif)?
Adapting Emily Brontë’s novel as it was felt by her on first reading (rather than a stricter literary approach), Fennell focuses in on the carnal passion and tosses in a Charli XCX score for good measure. This Wuthering Heights may be a long way from Haworth, but it still demands to be seen and discussed.
