Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot

Joaquin Phoenix stars as John Callahan in a star-studded adaptation of the cartoonist’s memoir, directed by Gus Van Sant.

When John – a twenty-year-old alcoholic – is paralysed in a drunk-driving accident, he reluctantly starts attending AA meetings. Anticipating failure, his cynicism is curtailed by his supportive sponsor Donnie (Jonah Hill), his nurse girlfriend (Rooney Mara) and a newly-discovered talent for drawing.

John’s macabre cartoons soon draw a loyal national following, offering him a chance for a new lease of life.
