Parent & Baby: Eiffel

Gustave Eiffel carved his name into history with the skyline-dominating Parisian landmark. Eiffel takes us to the dramatic crossroads in his life that made this engineering marvel. Eiffel (The Beat That My Heart Skipped’s Romain Duris), having completed the Statue of Liberty, is keen to work on the Paris Metro. But the French authorities want to find an edifice worthy of the 1889 World’s Fair. Eiffel sets out on this impossible task, against which he is faced with another drama: romancing Adrienne (Sex Education’s Emma Mackey), against the wishes of her well-to-do family.

Even if we know that the tower will one day be an internationally-recognised beacon, the genuinely awe-inspiring construction sequences give us a real sense of drama and the incredible engineering feat that sprang from the mind of one very singular man.
