Adopted and raised in France, Freddie (Park Ji-Min) decides on a whim to return to her birthplace of South Korea. 25 years old and yearning to belong, we see her struggle to adapt in Seoul’s streets while she searches for her birth parents. Spanning eight years in Freddie’s life, we see her delve deeper into Korean society while also becoming embroiled in its underworld.

With echoes of recent tales of return such as The Farewell, this is a seductively shot love letter to South Korea – now a major player in international cinema with hits such as Decision to Leave and Parasite – that probes our sense of nostalgia and home, how where we from shapes who we become.
