Set in Chicago during the Prohibition era, this classic comedy tells the story of speakeasy musicians Jerry (Jack Lemmon) and Joe (Tony Curtis), who are forced to go into hiding when they witness a massacre led by gangster Spats Colombo (George Raft).

Dressing in drag to avoid the mafia, Jerry becomes Daphne and Joe becomes Josephine. The pair join a girl band heading for Miami, quickly falling for enchanting vocalist Sugar Kane (Marilyn Monroe). Jerry and Joe begin vying for her affections – but unable to remove their disguises, and with the mob hot on their tail, their schemes quickly spiral into a series of hilarious comic mishaps.

Billy Wilder’s romantic comedy receives a special one-off screening on December 9.
