Helen Delany and Brenda Aherne of Electronic Sheep are delighted that Kiln Theatre is hosting their new Exhibition and event Le hÉireannaigh uile Kilburn. Kiln Theatre have worked with the visual artists Delany and Aherne to bring together this celebration of Irish heritage that lives in Kilburn, exhibiting their unique artwork that holds Irish-Kilburn stories at its core.

The artworks in this exhibition were developed by the artists in response to arts and charity commissions. Their textile art and community engagement works on show include their two knitted tapestries: The Kilburn Tapestries (commissioned by Brent 2020, Brent Council, London) and Notifications Off (commissioned by First Fortnight Mental Health, Arts & Culture Charity and funded by The Arts Council of Ireland).

Themes of immigration, mental health, equality and the arts are key to the artworks. The works feature a host of Irish cultural figures who have been/are part of the London Irish (and Kilburn) community including playwright Enda Walsh and musicians Róisín Murphy, Rory Gallagher, Shane MacGowan and Phil Lynott. C.B.E Vince Power, local Kilburn venue owner and legendary music promoter is a key figure in the Irish of Kilburn community and has made a significant contribution in the making of both tapestries by sharing his stories and unpublished artefacts.
