Tulip Fever

In 17th Century Amsterdam, at the height of tulip mania, orphaned girl Sophia (Alicia Vikander) is married off to a merchant (Christoph Waltz). When her husband hires a painter (Dane DeHaan) to commemorate his younger wife, the pair immediately fall in love and begin a passionate affair. Planning to escape to the New World, the couple start speculating in the frenzied tulip bulb market, hatching a complex plan to buy their freedom.
